Arizona Center for Empowerment (ACE), is a community-led and driven organization committed to raising new leadership in Arizona through confronting the most pressing needs of its often-under- served communities. Its sister organization, Living United for Change in Arizona (LUCHA), is an organization led by changemakers fighting for social, racial, and economic transformation.

This is a full-time position that requires building people power by building teams of volunteers who are directly impacted by core issues. With the power of our members and community we plan to find solutions to address these issues in our communities. 


What You'll Do:

​

  • Implement Campaign Plan(s) that are deeply rooted in base building, leadership development, and neighborhood team building

  • Evaluate and adapt the organizing plan that is informed by political landscape, community members, and manager  

  • Hold one on one conversations with possible partners, community members, and institutions 

  • Hiring, management, training (and/or releasing) of organizers:

    • Interview 

    • Onboarding

    • Training 

    • Coaching 

  • Manage and and hold organizers accountable to:

    • Metrics

    • Timeline 

    • Leadership Development

    • Volunteer Engagement 

  • Oversee creation and implementation of campaign tactics which include: 

  • Base Building 

  • Field canvassing 

  • Phone Banking

  • Neighborhood Team Development

  • Direct Action

  • Ensure that organizer data is being tracked by digital systems EVA, Moblize, etc. 

  • Support training of organizing staff on organizational trainings 

  • Work with the Manager and to manage, day to day design, and management of team 

  • Have regular check-ins with the Managing Director

  • Facilitate data blocks for the organizing team  and hold them accountable to complete their data

  • The organization reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.

 

To succeed in this role, you need:

​

  • To be passionate about economic, social, and racial justice issues  

  • Solutions-oriented and willing to adapt and be a risk-taker 

  • Comfort with the implementation of a range of organizing strategies and tactics including phone banking, canvassing, and tabling

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with diverse groups and populations

  • Lead strategic direction of base building 

  • Effectively build and lead a team, establish deep relationships with grassroots leaders

  • Strong facilitation and training skills.

  • Capacity and willingness to work long, flexible hours and to travel extensively (including weekends).

  • Understanding and appreciating the urgent nature and time demands of actions and campaigns. 

  • Data management experience and knowledge, VAN, Mobile and Every Action Preferred.

  • Computer proficiency in Google Suites (E-mail, Docs, Drives, etc.)

  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift and carry 20 lbs. 

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

  • Customer service skills are needed

  • Management Experience of 3+ Years  

  • Bilingual preferred

  • Previous Campaign experience

  • This is a temp to hire position.

  • Pay starting from $58,000 annually

  • Phone stipend

  • 12- Company paid Holidays.
